A Voice to Proclaim, A Heart to Harvest

The Evangelist is one of the five-fold ministry gifts given by Christ to equip the Church and reach the lost. Evangelists are anointed to proclaim the Gospel with power, call sinners to repentance, and bring in the harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God.

“He gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers...”
Ephesians 4:11

The Mission of the Evangelist

Evangelists carry a deep, Spirit-fueled burden to see people saved, healed, and set free through the Gospel. They are driven not by platform, but by passion, passion for souls, truth, and Jesus.

Key Characteristics of an Evangelist:

1.     Bold Proclamation

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season...” 2 Timothy 4:2
Evangelists boldly preach repentance, salvation, and the cross often in hostile or indifferent environments.

2.     Heart for the Lost

“The Son of Man came to seek and save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10
Evangelists weep for the broken, the forgotten, and the far-from-God. They carry God's heart for reconciliation.

3.     Signs and Power

“They went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them, confirming the word with signs...” Mark 16:20
Many evangelists operate in healing, deliverance, and miracles to validate the Gospel.

4.     Mobilizer of Others
Evangelists don’t just preach, they equip the Church to share the Gospel, teach personal evangelism, and raise up soul winners.

5.     Courage to Confront
They confront sin with love and truth, unafraid to speak the message of repentance and new life.

The Evangelist’s Role in the Church

·       Preaches the Gospel with clarity and urgency

·       Activates others in personal and public evangelism

·       Hosts outreach events, missions, and crusades

·       Leads altar calls and helps shepherd new believers

·       Partners with pastors and teachers to integrate new believers into discipleship

Do You Feel Called as an Evangelist?

“Lord Jesus, use my voice for Your glory. Fill me with Your Spirit and send me with boldness, compassion, and power. Let me carry Your Gospel to the hurting, the broken, and the lost. Raise me up as a voice of truth and a vessel of mercy. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
